Who would have guessed?
Case file: https://s3.documentcloud.org/documents/25248143/industry-groups-vs-ftc.pdf
Internet and Television Association, Electronic Security Association, and Interactive Advertising Bureau
There, saved you a click.
3 organisations I have never heard of and would never have guessed.
TY for your service 🫡
Phew, and here I was afraid that Bert and Ernie were suing the FTC!
Can we stop it with groups abbreviated ESA? I can think of like 5 of them, and none of them have anything to do with each other.
Also surprised to not see any gym companies on that list
Groups representing telecom companies, home security companies, and internet advertisers don’t want to make subscriptions easier to cancel.
Interestingly no gyms
Fuck the internet and whoever else turns cancellation into a 3 hour sales pitch.
But yeah, gyms are worse.
Remember AOL? They were like Wolf of Wallstreet or Glengarry Glenross
clickbate with the word click on the title, quite fitting, a bit subliminal perhaps
