Here’s the mod post:
Dear Beloved Community,
We gather here today on our transformed Christian Minecraft server, and we have some news to share. Our mod team has made a difficult decision, one that may come as a surprise to some. Brace yourselves, for we are bidding farewell to our NSFW content.
Why, you ask? Well, let us shed some light on the matter. The winds of change have blown across the vast Reddit landscape, and the terrain has become treacherous. Alas, our valiant mod team can no longer ensure the safety and well-being of our members while navigating the realms of NSFW content. Fear not, dear friends, for this decision was not made lightly. We hold our community’s best interests close to our hearts.
We understand that many of you have reveled in the spicy delights of our NSFW offerings, but worry not! We remain committed to fostering a vibrant and wholesome environment, one that embodies the spirit of this Christian Minecraft server. Together, we can embark on a new chapter filled with joy, laughter, and delightful SFW (Safe For Work) content.
We implore you, our cherished members, to embrace this change with open arms. Let us channel our creative energies toward crafting entertaining, funny, and uplifting posts that will warm even the coldest of creepers’ hearts. Our mission remains unchanged: to create a safe haven for all, where respect, kindness, and good vibes thrive.
Though we bid farewell to our NSFW past, let us not dwell on what has passed, but rather look forward to what lies ahead. We stand united, ready to build an even stronger community, one that will bring smiles to faces far and wide.
Thank you, dear friends, for your understanding and unwavering support. Together, let us journey into this new era of our Christian Minecraft server and forge unforgettable memories. Praise the mods, praise the admins (maybe just a little), and let the SFW festivities commence!
With love and gratitude,
Moderators of the Christian Minecraft Server
This is all a reminder that Reddit was never anything special - the people on it were. The trending of malicious compliance by moderators to an abusive CEO really highlights how exceptional people can be. This whole following corrupt rules thing in a way that just lets the corruption burn itself out is fucking beautiful.
…it’s like a captain going down with the ship, while cracking Chuck Norris jokes all the way to the grave. This is what the internet was made for.
Steve really is something. Imagine thinking you can pick a fight with the internet and win. That is perhaps the most delusional thought any person can ever have.
If NSFW people start to move away, then Reddit is done for.

I ended up making my own nsfw comm (!animemidriff@lemmynsfw.com) that was missing in Lemmy… with blackjack and hookers!
I hope people make the other ones I miss, or I might have to do it myself
You’re doing gods work bless ya
porn was the backbone of many a community.
Forever was. Forever shall be.
Praise be to porn.
indeed!
I like to think that Spaz inches ever closer to insanity with each of these creative subreddit realignments. Love it!
Such a glorious spectacle, the fall of a once mighty internet giant.
I don’t think it’ll happen on July 1st, but it’ll probably happen in a few years. It will be more of a slow decline.
I imagine there will be an influx at the end of the month when people’s favourite apps cease to be. Following that I hope for a slow steady growth.
Is it really protest for pricing changes at this point?
Pethaps. Really, though, it’s moved on to a general protest about the staggering lack of respect and disdain for the community that built Reddit spez and the executive team supporting him are showing the userbase.
I wish them all the best, and while fun, I hope eventually they realize the only way to win is to stop playing.
It can be about more than one thing. It started as a protest for pricing changes and then became about the lack of respect show to protestors and is slowly heading to attempts to burn it all down.
I give Reddit two years left with how things are going. Most of the active community will be moving on by the end of this year. All this protest in action will definitely hurt their chances to IPO successfully. Even if they backtrack on their API promise, it’s much too late. The damage is done. I hope spez thanks Elon Musk for the amazing business inspiration.
Any IPO will need to be without Spez. Not a chance that institutional investors will want Spez in charge. Spez has flagged himself as a risk to the business and proven he can’t manage risk himself, and worse, that he’s liar. Before this fiasco I was considering buying Reddit stock, now I view any potential IPO as inherently risky. I don’t trust Spez as a CEO; he doesn’t understand his business model.
If they were going to backtrack, the time would have been a week ago.
At this point, they’d need to kill the paid API plan and start paying the content creators…
