Colin Moriarty says he has seen proof of its authenticity and thinks it could be announced in August; several clues in recent days point to its existence.
God. Can you imagine if it’s like the San Andreas remaster? People will riot
I mean, the entire map is already there in RDR2.
Mexico isn’t.
Most of it is, actually. We used to glitch out of bounds in RDO and wander Guarma and Mexico. Mexico is literally the RDR1 models for everything. It even had the ambient noise tracks for wild animals. It’ll take a good amount of work if they intend to get it to rdr2 quality, but it’s there nonetheless.
Can any of us really say for sure if Mexico is real?
(Thanks. I stand corrected… I never made it that far in the map during the post-game.)
Mexico was a made up area for the game
I mean “Baja California”? That is clearly a made up name. Someone heard of California and thought they’d add a musical instrument or something in front! /s
I really hope this is real and that Undead Nightmare is part of it!
Does this reply count as a necro? Anyhow, I vaguely remember R* dedicating all of their resources to one game now instead of 2 after RDR2 was pushed out. I hope if they’ve outsourced this remaster, it stays well enough away from what happened to the GTA games.
We are truly living in the era of remasters and remakes. More an observation than judgement. There are many games I never played that this will allow me to play for the first time.
I think for RDR1 we should take into account that a remake/remaster means the game being available on more platforms than just PS3/360, which is always a good thing.
Probably much needed. I started with RDR2 and loved it so much I got a PS3 to play the first game. But it wasn’t nearly as good and felt a lot more dated after being spoiled by RDR2.
I played RDR first, but still very late - after RDR2 had come and gone as a phenomenon. It’s dated, mostly in how empty the world feels. It’s a little disturbing in a liminal way, and yet nostalgic because I can remember other games from that era having similar limitations.
Who keeps asking for old games to be remade every couple of years? I’d like new IP and games, not be sold repolished games that were once good but after a decade, lose their replayability.
Well with RDR1 it picks up where RDR2 ended. I can’t remember most of the story but theres a lot in RDR2 that should make things clearer in RDR1. Plus, 1 wasn’t done for computer and I don’t have an Xbox.
I’d love to continure the story chronologically with RDR2 graphics and gameplay.
It’s not like another damn GTAV.
How about a RDR2 remaster for ps5
I’d honestly pay for a 60fps patch.
Unpopular opinion I’m sure, but RDR2 actually looks worse in 60fps.
It was literally designed to look cinematic -like a film- hence the lower frame rate and things like film grain being added, etc. It specifically notes in the settings that this was the artistic intent of the developers.
Not saying people couldn’t play it in 60fps if they felt like it, but every high-frame-rate mod I’ve seen of the game, it actually looks LESS realistic. And that was sort of the intention - realism.
