"The meeting… featured about 40 Arab American leaders, Grenell, Trump’s son-in-law Michael Boulos, and Boulos’ father, Massad Boulos…. Grenell came off as unsympathetic to the plight of Palestinians while actually angering some participants by reiterating a comment from Trump’s other son-in-law, Jared Kushner, who said in March that Israel should remove Palestinians from the valuable ‘waterfront property’ in Gaza.”
Said one attendee: “He repeated Jared Kushner’s statement about beachfront property, which I think floated like a lead balloon in the room.”
Worse.Timeshare.Pitch.Ever.
I’m amazed they even took the meeting TBH.
Taking the meeting is the message. No one should have expected anything but terrible promises. But it sends a message
Both attendees who spoke to NOTUS said Arab American leaders told Grenell they had three conditions for supporting Trump in November: his support for an immediate cease-fire, funding for the United Nations Relief and Works Agency — which has been the primary provider of humanitarian aid in Gaza — and a commitment to enact the so-called Leahy Laws in Gaza. (The Leahy Laws, written by former Sen. Pat Leahy of Vermont, prohibit the United States from funding foreign militaries that violate human rights.)
They have to know Trump will say anything to get elected again, right? He’s literally running to stay out of jail. It’s funny they called him clueless.
Pot and kettle and all that.
I would be pretty confident taking this meeting was only a signal that they’re open to other factions. If the democrats don’t start doing something, they don’t automatically have their support… At least, that’s the idea. They effectively do automatically have their support because of how horrible the MAGA side is, which sucks.
I am amazed they believe him about the Muslim ban. When he gets elected he will enact that within 3 month.
That’s a hell of a sales pitch. Help elect a Republican and that Republican MAY not ban the people practicing your religion.
Help elect a Republican and that Republican MAY not ban the people practicing your religion.
…after essentially already doing that in a smaller scale during his first term.
