Last year I did Movember as a joke and people actually donated money!
This year I decided to grow a beard, so I was thinking about making it a reverse Movember, going from full beard to moustache only.
What do you think should be my course of action during the month? I thought of:
- Fading the beard slowly with a trimmer, while keeping the moustache untouched.
- Narrowing the beard to a chinstrap and then closing it into a goatee. Finally, moustache only.
- Somehow slowly making the beard converge into a goatee, by completely cutting it simmetrically starting from the ears.
1 is the most socially acceptable, but it will be hard to see until the last stages. 2 is figured out, but the idea of a very thin chinstrap makes me uncomfortable. 3 is not figured out at all but would be the most visible on the progress pictures.
I need at least 5 phases (one per week + starting point), but ideally more.
Any tips/ideas?
Go from the inside out! Start with shaving an inverse hitler moustache, end up with mutton chops
Man! The moustache is the only thing I don’t want to shave! It’s Movember.
I like 2 but you will look weird for a few weeks, which is why I like it.
Slowly is less impactful. Though my preference would be to go fairly hard so it stands out. Start by shaving your chin and lower lip (keeping side whiskers, sideburns, and moustache.) Then keep narrowing that up into a neat friendly or trimming down into a hulihee then into a moustache. This I think would give you a much more ‘transitional moustache’ look than aiming at a goatee. You could also go for a horseshoe.
Option 2 - definitely! Friend of mine did it once - looked really good.
