  • I had a similar relationship with my younger brother after I left for college. We were close before then but when I got back we were basically strangers. I let him move in with me shortly before figuring out I was trans so even though things were still a bit weird between us I came out to him (couldn’t deal with running to hide wigs and dresses anymore). His response was that he always wanted a sister and we got super close after that. Our family says even though we’re 4 years apart we basically have the mind meld thing twins have lol

I’m not saying this will be your experience but being honest and vulnerable can be a great start to getting closer. Regardless you have already shown how brave you are by coming out.

Also it doesn’t look like you mentioned her politics, but even though she’s in texas it seems like she was chill with you being feminine when you were growing up so id hope she’s still open to that.

  • I’ve used them and they help sometimes but I also just forget to take them all the time lol usually if I’m chugging a large milkshake I’m having a bad enough day that I’m not thinking a few hours ahead.

Also anyone reading this: the chewable lactaid tablets will make you want to die. They are one of the most unpleasant things I’ve had in my mouth

  • 100% this. An ex of mine did this all the time and the first couple times are cute but past that it starts being obnoxious and like you said exhausting. I finally told her when she says stuff like that she’s also calling me either stupid for “settling” for her, or a liar by not believing me when I said I wanted to be with her. She stopped for a bit after that but it didn’t last long.

  • I take like 12 pills every morning and half of them are just for my mental health. I know personally it’s always been there but has gotten tougher to manage recently primarily due to external factors. I think it’s important to remember that other people are going through wildly different things than you. Other people have a harder time dealing with stress and depression than you do. Plus it’s become much more common to actually get help when you’re struggling which would explain the higher numbers being reported.

Also a high tv viewership if anything counters your argument. A lot of people use television as an escape so higher viewership would mean more people trying to ignore their stress/issues.
