not even particularly confusing, it’s just two inexperienced users being inexperienced. it seems like it’s only confusing people that know OpenOffice and LibreOffice have OS X versions but somehow don’t know that not everyone knows what they’re doing.

Cooking @lemmy.world•Someone didn't like me posting such "awful" fried rice last week. So I'm reflecting on what they said and...
4·3 hours agoi’d already been really sick of that “everyone’s so creative” cooking content for a while, because it’s mostly just bullying, but uncle roger put me off him for good when he ballbusted a 12 year old for using a bench scraper. you know, the extremely common tool that every youtube cook uses in every single video.

politics @lemmy.world•I voted Trump. Now he’s pardoned the $20m Ponzi fraudster who conned me
5·3 hours ago“yeah, you can definitely write an article about how deeply stupid and gullible i am, sounds great. make sure to name me, too, so everyone knows.”
the joke seems to be that he doesn’t have a clue what he’s talking about, because on top of that, nobody pronounces “d8” as “date.”
a lot of ideas-only leftists on the internet have gotten furious with me when i ask “how.” way too many terminally online leftists build their entire political ideology around the desired end result and have spent exactly zero time thinking or learning how we actually get there.
i don’t have all the answers, either, but i openly acknowledge what i don’t know because just getting angry and calling someone a right-winger in the comments of a random reddit or lemmy post over the tiniest bit of barely-pushback is not going to help me build actionable knowledge and strengthen my views.
you’re right, but i need people to understand that this is simply not a workable solution for most people. the simple fact is if we want the average person to adopt more open source alternatives, it needs to improve usability even without their help. it’s not really enough to only cater to us power user nerds with “good enough,” and it doesn’t win hearts and minds to handwave complaints and tell people to come back with a patch.
i give OP a year until the furry hater -> furry pipeline kicks in.
dude, damn near nobody is cumming in their $8000+ fursuit or covering it with lube.
they make dildos that look like pieces of pie stacked up and ears of corn. neither of those are furry-related.
pointing to any specific dildo design as being inherently weird just isn’t a great argument, basically.
when i say “red grapes,” i’m always referring to the ones that are actually red because they have the most satisfying snap when you eat them.
two examples: white wine, white grape juice. both are very common. seems to refer to the juice color, not the color of the grape skins.
when they’re made into raisins, they’re called golden raisins. so “white” isn’t even the only one.
incels have always existed, we just used different terms for them until they outright stole and corrupted the name of an extremely normal support group for people with social anxiety.

Technology@lemmy.world•Some Claude users are mad that Anthropic’s new watermarks will catch them using it at their jobs, classesEnglish
9·3 days agoall of them are just admitting that they’re embarrassed about using AI instead of their own brains. of course, they don’t know that because claude never told them.

politics @lemmy.world•Trump’s fear of attack is making him deeply paranoid
2·4 days agoi knew exactly what this was going to be.
i’ve never had an original thought in my life.
just in case you haven’t, or someone else needs the tip, you can try both
--cookies-from-browser <browser>and--impersonate <browser>i.e.
--cookies-from-browser firefox --impersonate firefox:linuximpersonate requires python-curl_cffi to be installed.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.ca•Is there a way to rip audio files playing in the web browser and showing the little megaphone icon in the tab?
8·4 days agosometimes it’s as simple as finding audio elements in the inspector and opening the src attribute in a new tab. ctrl+shift+i (or f12) and you can search for “audio.”
you can also open the network tab, refresh, play the audio, and scroll through requests to see when it requests the audio data. it’s also searchable, look for mp3 and ogg files. if it’s a playlist file (m3u8), you can feed that url to yt-dlp.
fun fact: he’s in dragon ball z: legacy of goku 2 for the gba. he tells you that he moved into the woods because society is too reliant on capsule tech, and then praises you for blowing up a generator. “i like your style.”

the viable option to using AI is to use your own mind that you were born with.
people who are heavily reliant on AI are not going to end up educated enough to fight back, they’re going to remain reliant on AI. that is the problem.
