It says that he salvaged and repaired himself.
Willie did try taking it to a repair shop one time when his regular luthier was unavailable. They refused to touch it, because they were afraid of fixing something that shouldn’t be fixed.
This guitar has lived a full life. It even has its own wikipedia page.
We have all kinds of different labels to differentiate eggs. Consumers still buy a lot of the cheapest. In my opinion it would make sense to outlaw the production of those instead of leaving the choice of animal welfare to the wallet of the consumer.
Chicken production is horrible everywhere, but in USA it is next level disgusting.
Besides the chlorine treatment, which they have to do because the production is unsanitary, they also ship the frozen chicken to China, where it’s chopped up, only to be send back to USA, still frozen. Trump was angry with UK not wanting to import it.
It makes no sense that sending a frozen chemical shit chicken all over the world, should somehow be better or cheaper than simply raising a chicken in Europe and just chopping the head off.

It’s the users, advertisers, investors and politicians, who should know if they still believe it to be an important platform.

8·2 days agoMine has a sensor in the drain much further down than the filter. If someone spilled detergent inside the machine, it will make a lot of bubbles, and this is enough to trigger the sensor, so it refuses to run the pump.
In order to flush it, I need to move it out, so I can open the safety drain on the back and throw in a bucket of water, collecting the water from the safety drain on a towel.
My bank offers those. There are a few rules to what you can upload.
Some make sense, like you can’t print the pin code or use the visa logo on a Mastercard.
Others are less obvious. Tiger King wouldn’t be allowed because he’s technically a celebrity, which is not allowed.
I don’t want to shit in the same cup twice. That’s just disgusting.
Yes. Checks out. Ball sport is facism. With a ball.
A lot of matches could be avoided if only they had more balls. The ball owner just decided to only make one ball available, so they’d fight over it and remove attention from himself. It’s like the Colosseum, where the Caesar never had to fight.
This is the shitpost community, btw.

Work Reform@lemmy.world•"Don't unionize, just get a better job." When you unionize, you ARE getting a better job.
591·5 days agoThe statement is true. You have to create your own job.
After unionizing I have noticed that there aren’t really many jobs worth applying to. Most jobs advertised are worse than what I already have.
It’s not just about the pay. To me it’s more about the company “growing up” and acknowledging the need to balance the relationship between management and the qualified personnel, instead of viewing employees as unskilled servants.
The reason I couldn’t find a job like that before is pretty clear. We also don’t post job openings on the web anymore. First of all we don’t have a lot of people quitting, but we also have plenty of qualified union members to choose from when we do have vacancies.
The way I see it, unionization is primarily an upgrade for the company. It’s not just access to qualified personnel. It also cuts out a lot of the bullshit conflicts between management and employees, because there are general agreements on a lot more things.
If they want employees to take the company serious, they need to treat their employees seriously.
Throwing pizza parties and threatening low paid unskilled workers with arbitrary management decisions or making random bonuses and shit doesn’t achieve anything like this. It’s a complete waste of time in comparison to having a proper clear union agreement.

World News@lemmy.world•Iran aims to ban U.S. and Israeli ships from Strait of Hormuz and charge others a tollEnglish
1·5 days agoI think fertilizer production is one of those things where we already have a solution that works on renewable energy, but it’s more expensive than the conventional methods.
It basically boils down (pun intended) to pressure cooking organic materials. This requires a lot of energy. In my opinion it would make sense to decentralize the production and make it smaller and closer to the also decentralized sources of renewable energy.
About 50% of the price of conventional fertilizer comes from the transportation anyway, so it would make a lot of sense to make it closer to where it’s needed. This is not economically feasible with the conventional production though.
It’s North Jutland. The g is pronounced as “ge” almost like German “geh”.
I’m not native, and even after 15 years I sometimes still don’t understand the local dialect.

1·5 days agoI wonder how long it would take to rebuild society without oil, if we were to cut it from one day to the next.
I don’t think it would be long. Lots of solutions already exist but are infeasible only because oil is cheaper.

I think AI could have a good tool for specific purposes and also a very lucrative business if only they had not thrown all that money at it.
The extreme investments forced them to roll it out prematurely over a much larger market that it could ever supply in a meaningful way.
They’re trying to force a camel through the eye of a needle.
