The thing is that it’s more likely that someone you know does something terrible to you than a stranger intruding your house… I know it’s sad but most crimes of rape and murder are done by family or friends.
Maybe that’s thing about podcasts because I’ve never seen the content creators glorify the killers. I think it’s because the Makeup + True crime content creators are women, we tend to be the victims of the cases regularly so it’s always narrated through the lives of the victims.
The comments are always full of shock and sympathy for the victims and also anecdotes. There’s a lot of complaining about the soft sentences for the criminals which are surprisingly commonly low.
Another common thing is criticism to the police for their ineptitude, in most of the cases they don’t it seriously.
Yes, it makes you learn that some people are in fact born evil and start showing signs from a young age.
You’re right, I’ve thought about it before, why do I get so entertained with this? But tbh it’s because I put myself in the place of the victim and think about what would I have done different.
But there are some cases, specially those involving vulnerable individuals like kids that I can’t watch. And I’m a person who doesn’t like kids at all 😂

Unpopular Opinion@lemmy.world•Most people in open relationships will get jealous and resentfulEnglish
1·16 days agoThis is not an unpopular opinion, only cronically online Reddit dwellers would down vote your opinion for not being what they want to hear.
I’ve been the “side party” for open relationships more than once. These men would always dump on me their relationship drama, it felt as if the open relationship was the announcement of the downfall of their relationship.
After they break up they also stop wanting to be with you, most of the times they’re using you to cope with their imminent breakup. When it finally ends you’re no longer of use for them 🤷🏻♀️
Maybe this is a by country/culture thing. In my country most men do want to form a family and have kids while women aren’t really looking into it they’re more focused on themselves.
I’ve even heard of couples who do love their adopted kids but their love for their bio kids is “different”. I will adopt even if I’m single in the end I don’t need a man to be in my side for that.
I think that a lot of people think that having a biological child would mean having a “mini me”. Which sounds so weird to me… The kid is it’s own whole different person, they’re the same people who will get disappointed in their own kids because they didn’t achieve the success in what they’d imagine they’d succeed. Parents with a lot of frustrated dreams.
I just use this app to vent, even if the answer is obvious I just wanted a place to talk about it
Girl, the ai paranoia is interesting
Wow, do you men have to always be so insufferable
They’re not best friends anymore, but I really thought Musk would try to pretend to hide it a bit more…
What does that mean

12·1 month agoAlso I have to say that he knows me since I was 15, and this behavior started in my late teens. When I first told my dad about he said it happened because I was already a grown woman 💀 I swear my parents are retarded sometimes.

3·1 month agoNo I’m already an adult, I still love my parents even if they were bad parents they’re still good people.
This post was only because I saw my brother’s friends be the same as him which shocked me, either I was Einstein as a kid or kids nowadays are dumber.

5·1 month agoBecause I was the first child, the first child always has more responsibility. It’s also a complicated family dynamic, I’m trans and came out very young so my parents approach was to raise me as they would raise a woman which means taking care of the younger siblings and taking care of the house, things my older brother didn’t have to do for example (my older brother is from a different marriage of my dad, we’re half siblings)

3·1 month agoWell I’m being harsh to my brother because I’ve been the one doing everything for him since I was younger than he is right now. So seeing these kids being unable to do basic tasks for themselves is a bit frustrating.

6·1 month agoMy mom has a cleanliness obsession, so the difference is that I was made to take care of house chores since a young age. My brother didn’t have to do anything because I was already there, I was the one to “raise him”. But to be honest I did it poorly to because I did everything for him and got mad at him easily.

That all men are evil, I admit I’m a sinner of this. My terrible experiences make me think men are evil but I know that’s wrong and toxic I’m working on it. I must admit tho that these experiences constantly happening are making it too difficult 🙃
