There is no other group that was targeted and murdered at the same scale by the Nazis, although they committed genocide against several groups, not just the Holocaust. It’s a strange word choice that the media has coalesced around. Rebel groups or armed forces would imply that they are coordinated and ideological. Cartels would imply that they are selling something. Militias is probably the best.

I doubt it would do much. Reuters is one of the highest quality news sources available. Along with AP and AFP, they make up the international news wire service that other high quality news sources rely on for coverage.
