ooh, that’s a tough one. probably nail polish, if that counts. i don’t generally do anything fancy with my face, but nail art is fun, and a lot more likely to be complimented by others than a bit of subtle makeup.

is this ‘glow in the dark’ like i’m radioactive and constantly glow a little bit, or is this ‘glow in the dark’ like i absorb a little bit of light and slowly re-emit it, so if i wait long enough in darkness i’ll stop glowing?

does north korea have veto power?
1946 to 1964 is exactly the range of birth years traditionally assigned to ‘baby boomers’. anyone older or younger isn’t a boomer at all.

so the specific image adds nothing (since being arrested anywhere for anything usually ends up with being in a cell), and could just be any image depicting anyone in a cell?
perhaps it was foolish of me to think there was a joke here.
that is definitely not perl.
i almost bought that book a couple months ago at a local bookshop!

good advice about buses. i chased after a bus once. i tripped, twisted my ankle, damaged my clothing, and scraped the hell out of my left wrist, elbow, and shoulder. still got a scar from it. everyone on the bus saw, and the bus driver waited for me as i limped up to the next stop.

the “folk horror suddenly everywhere” claim kinda falls apart when you note that the three films they cite came out in 2023 (Lord of Misrule), 2019 (Midsommar), and 2015 (The Witch), and the image they chose to use is from 1973 (The Wicker Man). It’s a subgenre that’s had a bit of a resurgence in the past decade, but it’s hardly a new thing that’s “suddenly” everywhere.

you call your friend by a nickname? believe it or not, straight to jail.
yep. in 2 dimensions, nobody really debates on whether x or y should point up, so i kinda think the debate about z stems from whether one thinks we should put the xy plane horizontally (like a sheet of paper on a desk), or vertically (like a chalkboard).
does any software default to making x be the vertical axis?
the trick, i’d imagine, is to be rich enough that you don’t have to deal with doing your own chores or errands (let the servants get groceries and cook and clean and drive you places).
yeah, i know that number is horribly inflated, and few ever look at the considerably larger death toll that ought to be ascribed to capitalism, but to suggest that the any state, such as the ussr, doesn’t have any blood on its hands seems naive at best, and actively deceptive at worst.
yeah. i’m not great at it, and don’t usually do anything fancy, but i can manage. i’ve never gone to get them done professionally, but i’d like to some day.
