I would say it’s because of capitalism but the truth is that my poor health is the real reason for my unhappiness. If I had better health I would fight against capitalism through activism as I did in the past. That would make me happy, at least.

5·22 days agoI’ve just finished ‘Our Rights to Drugs’ by Thomas Szasz. It’s a controversial book but I think it’s worth reading. In my opinion, it has some interesting takes and some wrong ones but overall, I recommend it.
What kind of sorcery is this? It’s literally me!
Accepting the things I can’t change for the better, and just living with them. It makes me overthink too much.

62·1 month agoI think the main problem here is that now there’s a high reliance on systemd tools in the GNU/Linux ecosystem, limiting users freedom.
I recently bought earplugs to avoid being bothered by loud sounds and they work so well. I also use them while I sleep and I feel a big improvement in my rest.

6·1 month agoI started ‘Endnotes 2’ a couple days ago. I’m halfway and loving it but I’m taking my time. I am also taking notes about the most important things to better retain the theoretical content.
In short, this book breaks down capitalist social relations from the perspective of a communist branch called communization. I absolutely love that worldview :)

3·2 months agoI’ve finally read ‘The Strong State and the Free Economy’ by Werner Bonefeld. I think the information inside this book is so interesting, but I find it a bit repetitive. This essay probably could be shorter than its actual length; however, I recommend it to anyone who wants to learn about ordoliberalism and neoliberalism.

n0p1lls@piefed.ziptoMental Health@lemmy.world•What does a “good day” look like for you right now?English
1·5 months agoWhen I can read a lot of content about interesting topics, I consider that day a good one. Reading books and learning about many subjects make me happy. Lately, I’ve been trying to improve my English. I hope I’m on the right way.
Furthermore, I would prefer not to have digestive problems, but that’s quite uncommon.
Unfortunately, most of the days I’m very apathetic, and I don’t do anything productive. It might be a negative symptom of schizophrenia.

I stopped drinking energy drinks because I have ibs and they worsen my gut symptoms. Since then, my digestive issues have improved a lot. I’ve also discovered that I can’t drink coffee either :/ So I believe that all caffeinated drinks trigger my gut problems. That sucks because I’m addicted to caffeine, especially from energy drinks … but avoiding them, my quality of life is so much better.
I think that this plus taking the ibs medication could solve the problem. I hope so.
