“Yet one thing about the movie seems to take on a bit of extra meaning in 2026. The America in the film is literally in its second civil war and the American military officers in the movie are depicted in uniforms that unmistakably resemble Nazi uniforms. These fascist officers raid businesses (like the Hammerhead) and round up anyone seen as part of the resistance. Meanwhile, Canada is depicted as America’s sane, stable neighbor. Members of the resistance flee north for safety, and Canadian money is regarded as more stable than American dollars.”
I’m more of a trackball users. Those little nubs are so hard to find. ( ͡~ ͜ʖ ͡°)

Say B5 is best!!
I guess I wish I had switched to zigbee earlier. I have been slowly replacing all my tuya wifi devices. Zigbee Home-assistant App and Zigbee2MQTT are both local-only. For Hygrometers, buy in bulk and expect 1 in 4 to be useless garbage. I get them on Ali for cheap.
Can confirm. Started with replacing my Tuya lightbulbs. Last thing I automated was hydrometers for my house plants to tell me they’re thirsty.
Maybe reinstall/uninstall honey board🤔

Their fucking defense attorney is claiming he’s less culpable due to autism and fetal alcohol syndrome

Only the true emissary would deny his divinity!

Currently in 1Q84 by Haruki Murakami. The story is reasonably interesting, but what keeps me coming back is the beautiful use of metaphor.
“Once you pass a certain age, life becomes nothing more than a process of continual loss. Things that are important to your life begin to slip out of your grasp, one after another, like a comb losing teeth.”

How is that different from Spotify producing their own AI-gen music? Seems like that’s 3-4 minutes of listening that otherwise would’ve been spent listening to an artist.

Fraking toasters

“Thomson Reuters, best known for its media outlet and legal research tools, provides an investigative tool to immigration enforcers. Its Minnesota employees want that to stop.”

Isn’t it odd that when we speak of the “wealth” of the lower class it’s always in comparison to the rich. Like, I never think to myself or say to my peers, my $1000 in savings is my amount of “wealth”.

Look at big shot over here with $1000 and an expectation of retiring.

It’s an interesting metaphor and makes for a good read.

Not a scientist, but if time were expanding I’m not sure how you would notice that subjectively. I imagine it would be like black hole time dilation. You’d still experience things at 1 sec per sec, it’s just that your second is longer than an outside observer. But that’s a wild guess by a relative idiot. Hopefully soon to be corrected.
They are still not ready for human treatment, but this study was actually an interesting read.
