  • Autism isnt even a disease its just different wiring for the brain. As someone who is autistic the main problem with it is feeling of separation from majority of population.

To me, some of the “normal” people feel like they are the broken ones and its difficult to me to understand how others think. Some people freak out over minor and pointless things and think some really bad things are okay, seem to lack empathy in some things, cant think logically about somethings, are driven by emotions and sentimentality way too much yet insist on logic and not understand that emotions are a thing that affects things on other things. And ego is like holy calf that must be worshipped for so many.

Though i’m not sure if all this is even related to me being autistic or just me being different in some otherway.

  • I think one thing that would help someone depressed is to be with them and not expect them to have energy to reach out (And also respecting what they want). Of course considering ones own mental resources and not burning yourself out. And supporting them in getting help.

Everyone has their own reasons for being depressed, sometimes unknown even to themselves. Another thing that would help is to support the depressed person in working towards solution to their reason, if its something you can help with. Or helping them find something else that can help.

Just dont wear yourself out, then you cant help anyone. The professionals should do the “heavy lifting” but one can be there in someones life to support.

Imo its better to help few people a lot than help many people a little. (helping someone personally vs answering phone, but hotlines are important too. They just treat the symptoms though)

  • i wonder how we could behave to hasten the collapse. Like, start making even more unreasonable expectations on what llm can do so people get even more disappointed when they cant deliver. Or something else.

Convincing people that llm is bad doesnt seem to work if they already have positive opinion about it, but if they instead feel betrayed by the company that provides them their magic machines then in best case scenario they might become more critical towards corporations as a whole.
