So, transcriptions should be separated by a line break whenever there’s a new major section, like the beginning of the transcription after the title, between Tumblr posts (not between comments), etc. That means hitting enter twice for a new line (only hitting it once doesn’t fully separate them), then typing “—”, then enter again twice. If you’re still confused, click the 3 dots and then hit “show raw text”, if that’s an option on the platform you use.

Replies to comments should be written as embedded quotes, with an empty quote between the username and the text body, using “>”, “>>”, etc. Example:

The ToR (transcribers of reddit) subreddit has lots of tips and formats for transcriptions on the info bar of the subreddit, I’d recommend checking it out! The discord is super friendly, too, I go on there from time to time for transcription help. Just be sure not to include the official ToR footer!
