To be fair, I was in the camp of “put a sock in it” until I reached a point of “alright FINE, I’ll give it a go” and now I’m joining the choir on it, desktop Linux is a dream.
Ya I got nothing against linux and I’m going to switch my old laptop once get the time and a flash drive small enough but I find it’s practically like the reddit meme of the upvotes dropping on the guy’s head
I remember back in high school a gal was having computer trouble and when asked about it, she said her computer ran Microsoft office. Like yeah, people don’t really know what an os is.
Without Linux users advocating for Linux it would never reach the average consumer. We don’t have a marketing department we have to grassroots that shit.
Is there an equivalent to godwin’s law for Linux users? If you don’t have someone mention ditching windows you’ll never think to do it yourself

It’s a bit grating as it’s preaching to the choir here, but people mainly do not know you can replace the OS, or frankly what an OS is.
You really do have to evangelize for change to make this even occur to people.

It’s called SudoGetLinux’s law
