It is a game well worth the price. It is never going on sale, and neither is the DLC. Ever. The developers had a big post about setting the price to an amount they consider to be worth it for them. It is half the price of an “AAA” game with 6 hours of campaign.
I have heard their strategy, it’s not some new thing to me. I fully understand it’s their choice. However for me it’s a matter of principle.
No, it’s about 1.5-2x times more expensive than the same AAA game after 4 years and a summer sale.
The sale thing is true, however the price per hour is still a good deal. If you are on the edge, try the free demo. The devs are one of the best and most active devs I’ve ever witnessed for a game, and they 100% deserve the money.
