Hi, seems like a change to authorisation has broken backwards compatibility. Avelon isn’t able to login to instances running 0.19 which is “just around the corner” according to Lemmy devs.
Yeah, pretty much none of them work with 0.19 right now. The announcement was made to give a heads up. The release is a month+ away.
According to the announcement of lemmy.world updating to 0.18.5, 0.19 is “just around the corner” but they wanted to squeeze out a quick release to solve some moderation issues.
The developers of two other apps are working on supporting 0.19
Also, several instances have been running the RC since last week.
To me that suggests that “just around the corner” is sooner than a month+ away.
They specifically say 4 weeks (more likely later) in their post…… some of the several instances running 0.19 grabbed it accidentally for the most part as they had there docker tag set to :latest and it grabs the nightly builds.
I don’t get your point. We know it’s coming (whether it’s just around the corner or a month away), so it would be best to get ready to ensure compatibility. Especially when several instances are now no longer compatible with Avelon and other apps.
Are you saying there’s no need to do anything ? Or something else?
I was simply correcting some of the stuff you are typing out. Of course this stuff needs to be addressed.
?? I literally just typed that Avelon won’t log into v0.19 which is factually true. I don’t understand why you replied that the update wasn’t happening for a month +?
Never mind
Testflight version now supports 0.19RC, I’ll make sure to get it to app store too in the next few weeks
Thanks, How can someone join the TestFlight?
There’s a link in the sidebar: https://testflight.apple.com/join/IzB0ZiBO
You’ll also need to download the Apple Testflight app.
Thank you , I overlooked that 🤦♂️🙂
Was there another breaking change in RC4? Because one of my accounts using an instance with that release candidate is no longer working kn Avelon.
