WebP definitely introduces some jank, but I think Lemmy is adding more on top of what’s already there. If I open up the Catbox upload and the Lemmy preview side-by-side, I can see some weird stuff exclusive to the preview that Lemmy generates.
Thanks for replying though. I think I’ve already spent enough time thinking about how to upload lewds lol so I’ll just stick to stills for now and maybe try again later or if we ever get better animation/video support on Lemmy
Nvm I tried it one more time ( https://lemmynsfw.com/post/2547941 ) and it doesn’t generate the fucky preview and directly embeds the WebP from Catbox instead.
My guess is that it only fucks up if I click on the “Browse” to upload button out of habit even if I cancel out to paste a link instead. Thanks for the sanity check.
