For some added context, this is a picture of Mr Popo and I believe the line is specifically from DBZA.

@sammytheman666@ttrpg.network @Currens_felis@lemmy.ml Not only very funny but, in my opinion, a better story with better pacing and better characters than the original.

Mr. Popo as a horrifying sadistic eldritch being was absolutely an improvement.

For anyone not aware, TFS did a bunch of scenes from the Buu saga to help TotallyNotMark’s review of said arc. There’s a compilation on their main channel.

A special group of youtubers redid the entire manga series up to a point with voice actors and it’s funny as fuck. For example, Mr. Popo is now a chtuluesk entity that is way stronger than anyone and doesn’t give a fuck about anyone’s safety. Try “Mr popo abridged” and enjoy

Dragonball Z was a long-running stereotypical anime about magic dudes beating each other up and then discovering even stronger magic dudes to beat up together. TeamFourStar chopped up the series to a fraction of its length in a loving parody called Dragonball Z Abridged. You don’t have to know much about the original to enjoy the spoof.

This face belongs to Mister Popo, a sort of genie figure who trains the protagonists when they show up for help. This is one of his more helpful and kind interactions. He’s extremely powerful. He’s a good guy. But good is not nice. As an example, one of the subplots TFS severely cut down was an alien showing up to conquer Earth and accidentally hitting Mister Popo’s mystical cloud temple situation instead. Popo takes one look at the wreckage and says “Clean that up.” The magical alien invader says no. So Popo eats him. Subplot over, back to the heroes.

IMO splitting the party makes for very fun story telling but too many campaigns require players to stick together otherwise they would die.
