pirozhok in Russian, bierok in Prussian, börek in Turkish or an empanada in Spanish
All regions colonized eons ago by the ancient cornhuskers, duh. /s
AKA: Delicious; Kraut Burger; Bierock. My mother makes them every year between Christmas and New Year’s. Now I’m hungry. Thanks. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bierock
English ppl call that a pasty. Cubans call it an empanada. I call them all delicious.
Runza’s are delicious, but if you’re in the area, don’t sleep on the burgers. Runza makes the best burger you can get in a drive through. A Runza burger and a side of frings is heaven to me.
It’s like a hot pocket that doesn’t burn the roof of your mouth of give you panic shits

These are krautburgers and theyre not from nebraska.
This dish is so common it’s got tons of names, the only thing even vaguely Nebraskan about it is the name, and even that is a shortening of an older German name for it.
Cabbage pockets anyone?
God I could use like a snow shovel of those right now
Those look amazing, but I’m totally not driving 9 hours to Omaha to get some. Will try various variations though.
