What's better for a Videography and music external HDD - external SSD or nVME + Enclosure?

I’m looking into getting an external hard drive for my mac and looking at options for either

an internal SSD with enclosure
an internal nVME with enclosure

Looking at saving raw video and music projects as they take up a lot of space. Right now the price point of the 4TB products seem more economical than the 5TB ones. Which one would be a better option for frequent read/write as opposed to store and forget drives?
