Gaming culture is garbage TBH. I only play single player video games and board games. I have no time at all for online multiplayer games. Just way too many fragile egos and bad teammates to deal with, and I’m not talking about skill here. I’m talking about teammates who are unbearable to be around due to their toxicity.
I remember another study about male gamers and their attitude and behavior toward female gamers. It that found that men who were skilled in a game were pretty tolerant, but the less skilled they were, the more aggressive (less tolerant and more demeaning) they were toward their female counterparts.

If you mute all voice and chat as soon as you get into a game, then it’s bearable.
