    Feature Request: Can we get search within community? Or am I blind and not seeing it?

    Bug Report: If I try to dm someone, the text entry box appears for a split second then the entire screen turns solid gray. Thankfully, I can still back button out and continue using the app.

      Not at the moment. I’ll make a GitHub issue for it though so we can track it.

      Thanks for the report. I checked on Mbin, and it looks like DMs are working there. I see you’re using PieFed, so I checked with my PieFed account and was able to reproduce the issue, so I’ll make another GitHub issue for that. Just FYI, PieFed’s API for direct messaging was severely lacking in the past, which is likely why you’re seeing that issue. I’m not sure how much it has improved, but we’ll definitely look into it.

        Props again for the quick response. Must be very challenging to develop for the Fediverse. I’m never sure if it’s an issue with network/protocol, instance server, or app. I use Interstellar to switch between a PieFed and Lemmy account, and I also have Voyager and Jerboa for Lemmy.

        So I tried both my PieFed and Lemmy accounts in Interstellar and both grayed out when trying to dm. Then I just tried to dm you by browser and got this:

        Sorry

        You are not able to do this action due to being a very new account or because of a low reputation.

        Ouch 😭

          Yeah, it certainly can be for sure :) You never know what the issue is. It’s especially tricky where you are targeting three different types of servers (Mbin/Lemmy/PieFed) like we are. The main problem is that I am primarily using an Mbin account with Interstellar, so it usually takes longer before issues are found for Lemmy or PieFed.

          Since you mentioned Lemmy having problems with DMing as well, I have added that to the issue as well.

          Must be something piefed.zip setup, for spam prevention?
