GOP doesn’t really have the youth vote. They typically lose the under 30 crowd by 20 points or more in presidential elections, midterms tend to be an even larger gap between them. I think trump gained some young voters compared to normal, but still behind by 20 points.

I assume it’s the usual stupid “they’re talking about other people who happen to sound a lot like me”.
That or they exist solely in the emotional realm, and the words don’t really matter.
