Israel’s recognition of Somalialand has me interested in learning more about the country. A cursory read of NATOpedia shows a genocide committed by a supposedly communist government. I wonder if there’s any more comprehensive writing about this topic out there?

TrueAnon did a series on some Somali corruption, politics and murders of a journalist in the 90s. It touches lightly on some of the political landscape of Somalia and is worth a listen. The series is called Il Polpo
For me the most interesting thing I learned is how deep the Italian fascist’s expansion into Somalia affected the country even to today, especially around wheat and pasta production.
