Teigan — the wheelchair-using rescue dog who captured hearts during the 2026 Puppy Bowl — has sadly passed away, months before the episode ever aired. The Connecticut-based sanctuary Perfect Imperfections Rescue confirmed that Teigan died in October 2025 after a severe battle with pneumonia.
When Puppy Bowl XXII aired as a Super Bowl warm-up, viewers didn’t know they were watching a farewell. Teigan appeared proudly as part of Team Fluff, making her win especially bittersweet. Her rescue later shared that seeing her on TV was both joyful and heartbreaking, calling her "an incredible soul.”
Teigan was born with neurological issues and a severely curved spine, and she used a custom wheelchair to get around. After nearly dying from pneumonia once and fighting her way back, she sadly fell ill again and couldn’t recover. Still, her final months were filled with love, care, and a once-in-a-lifetime Puppy Bowl experience.
Team Fluff went on to win the game 73-69, but for many fans, Teigan was the real champion — a reminder of resilience, joy, and how deeply rescue animals can touch our lives.
