      That seems unlikely to me. Human brains can do metacognition, so it’s obviously physically possible. Computers keep getting faster. Unless civilization ends first, we should theoretically be able to make a computer fast enough to just emulate a human brain and brute-force metacognition, at which point anything is possible.

      Now, will that occur in our lifetimes, or for that matter in this millennium? Who knows.
