this is so fucking important, we may get to the point where even though the secondary effects are terrible we have to do it anyway, but oil companies are already going to point at this and say ''see! we can keep burning shit"

Does anyone think there is a single magical fix for the climate crisis?
We’ve already seen signs of self reinforcing effects.

I’m largely convinced that if there was a magical fix that shut down all fossil fuel use today, we’d still need to take some of these direct mitigation steps to actively reverse the problem. Stopping making it worse isn’t enough any more, we’ll have to spend trillions to reverse course. Which won’t happen since there’s no direct way to profit from it.
