Sure, it’s not the best crest, the platforming is also one of the worst due to the pogoing, but ironically it’s a lot more fun to play due to exactly that. It’s hard to get used to at first, but once you figured out you should be aiming what’s front of you rather than the below, it becomes a fascinating and actually viable way to fight flying enemies. Fury allows you to go all out disregarding nearly every incoming attacks, and during fury you hit enemies so fast that you can almost start another fury after it ends if you do it optimally.

If you ever plan to make a second playthrough, please give beast crest some love! (though I wouldn’t recommend it if it’s the first playthrough as beast crest quirk is distracting)

I will start a new playthrough before Sea of Sorrow comes out and want to play in a different way. For far, I got all achievements just using the Hunter’s Crest. Beast Crest should be a good enough change to keep things fresh.

Beast crest is super underrated for arena fights, once you get it going you can just smash through a bunch of enemies.

But it really does suck for platforming which means it’s useless for most of the game.

Aside of platforming, the playstyle is also very different from other crests which imo contribute the underuse. You have to be aggressive since you can only heal by hitting. It’s tricky to tell when is the right moment to go fury and even more so for how to do it optimally.
