Why would they fucking publish an article saying it will help the pro biotics industry, and then license that article NC?!?

      Same.

I’m almost positive that decades of poverty meals with almost zero nutritional value has decimated my gut microbiome.

Not that simple. They love carbs. Yet, not just any simple carb like starches or sugars but a specific, complex carbohydrate: cellulose, i.e. fiber, which they break down into sugars that our body can use.

So only brown rice, whole wheat bread, and the skin of potatoes. Potatoes are actually bad for your gut because they are so high in starches.

Otherwise, they love nuts and greens. Ya know, other foods that are high in fiber content.

See at least you have a seemingly potential reason. Also, I think if that’s what the cause is, you might have luck with taking prebiotics and probiotics to help garner it back.

I’ve been trying various things from yogurt, sauerkraut, kimchi and supplements and I haven’t really had success. I must be doing something wrong or too much or not enough idk.

Yes, you’re doing something wrong. Wherever you’re getting your health/microbiome advice from is a poor source. You can find better info here: https://humanmicrobiome.info/faq/

Fermented foods contain non-host-native microbes. Their benefits are hugely oversold. They will not restore your gut microbiome.

Wow this is a great link. Thank you. I haven’t gotten much advice, more just trying to research and sort it out but loads of suggestions are to those foods I mentioned.

I will review this thoroughly and hopefully get some results.

Gastroenterology and nutritional science is complicated, yo. Who knows what could be causing it. Unfortunately getting the tests to figure it out is timely and, for some, prohibitively expensive.
