I have been thinking about having my own instance of peertube to allow “unlimited” upload sizes and amounts. But I am afraid that I might not be discoverable in the majority of other instances.
Is there a way to “open up” your own instance? Or how does it work?
The only thing I know is to have it listed at Sepia. If you’re looking to have your content visible when people visit other Peertube instances I think they manually have to add yours to what they federate.
In general I still haven’t managed to get Peertube to work for “consumption”.
You can find more info here: https://docs.joinpeertube.org/admin/following-instances#following-a-platform
I used https://instances.joinpeertube.org/instances to get all instances and then others will reach out as time goes on.
Thank you! :)
NP! Just FYI it took a bit for my instance to get others subscribed to my instance a while back. You may find it a bit slower than other federated services. Im not 100% sure why that is, but after that initial period, it seems to do well.
I’m currently working on the project called PeerTube-Browser that aims to make a situation better with content discoverability within PeerTube federation. The project is on a very early stage development, but I’m keep working on it and planning to do so further.
You can test it here: https://peertube-browser.com/

You can also support it’s development financially. I would really appreciate.
