I think its supposed to be a specific criticism directed towards more auth lefties like MLMs who want to create a dictatorship of the proletariat to transition to a dissolved state communist society. So the comic is saying don’t hold out to build the vanguard party, destroy the parts of society that are hurting us and do the best you can to improve the current state of the world.
I’m not 100% on board with the message, but if that’s what it is saying it could be worse.
That’s how I took it at any rate
so just do a ship of theseus with society
We don’t have much of a choice, history marches regardless so we gotta do this:

before creation must come destruction. And if you think destruction of kindness and empathy; replacing it with oppression and violence, is not happening constantly then I don’t know what to tell you.

Its not brave or moral to let a machine designed to harm people continue operating, even if it requires violence to stop it. It is not more ‘mature’ to let millions get crushed under the boot heel to avoid discomfort for others. We have to build better while we destroy the systems that are hurting us, but those systems need to be destroyed.

Sure thing. Let you get back to the real work of having your face caved in by ICE because fighting back makes you as bad as them, or waiting patiently for them to finish ethnic cleansing while you vote your way to a better world.
I think many people choose to use violence to bad ends, like the garnering of profit, the division of people into an under- and overclass or the enforcement of the status quo. However, this does not mean that I condemn their violence for being violence, I believe violence is necessary for change. Look at, for example, at the civil rights movement. If violence is used to the right end, it can be good.

to live is to be violent, grow up
Keep waiting for that non-destructive revolution to come, I guess?

Is that the lesson you want to teach them about how to deal with their problems?
Literally the exact opposite. Don’t wait for a revolution to happen, make things better now
you have said so many words that to unpack them all one would have to write an extebsive essay.
but i know you wouldnt read it anyway, youd rather think you are morally superior being “anti-violence.” (probably while being coddled in your imperial-core state)
abandon your world building program
IMO from an anarchist perspective, the “world building program” is just as important as building a revolution. Obviously not in a nation-state sense, but building dual power, building the new world in the shell of the old, mutual aid and other anarchist social interventions, i.e. proposing, constructing, and demonstrating liberatory alternatives for the future, all seem like important parts of an anarchist project.
You’re not fighting for the future. You’re fighting for you now.
Again from an anarchist perspective, I think we need to do both. Like we shouldn’t use that as a cudgel to procrastinate communism to the infinite future, but there’s definitely gonna be some stuff (e.g. climate change) that I personally want to work on that there is a very low probability I will personally see the benefits of.
Yeah we absolutely need to have our sights set on future if for nothing else than to save ourselves the work later. We need to do work today that will compound over time to benefit the future and we also need to ensure we are not leaving anyone behind to wait on a better future.
Just be prepared with institutions to replace the social order before you knock the last legs from under it. To go from a shit existence to a shittier one will evoke only nostalgia for the old order.
Sounds about right. No future in anarchism.
So true king I sure do love the present it’s gonna be a great state of the union
Unproductive 😮💨
