I’ll tell you mine, I have never, ever sold my colony, and I have never used fire foam shell, tho, i do recognize both of those things as potentially useful, especially, selling your colony, its like a NG+.

Oh sure. I was talking about the gene editing capsules you can buy from traders. Why would you spend on negative traits? Amirite?
occasionally you can get some good stuff for a relatively minor penalty, like giving a shooter the weak trait, or poor social in exchange for better shooting. most the time its stuff like, ugly, poor plants, hair color. still, can reduce the need for food in extreme environments like ice sheet or desert.
but yeah, capsules are typically a crapshoot imo, my husband has gotten some good stuff tho, but he constantly trades, especially with the Empire.
Gotta get that Knight/Dame title for the trading alone.
