The conservationist shares her ongoing struggle with ‘indescribable, inescapable pain’ caused by the chronic disease
Bindi Irwin says that she’s had 50 lesions, caused by endometriosis, “cut out of my body” in the past three years, describing the ongoing struggle as “indescribable, inescapable pain.”
“March is endometriosis awareness month. As this month comes to a close, I urge everyone to remember this invisible disease each and every day,” the conservationist, 27, captioned a March 30 Instagram post, sharing photos of herself in the hospital.
“In the last three years, I’ve had over 50 endometriosis lesions cut out of my body. A chocolate cyst that was adhering my ovary to my side was removed. An appendectomy and a hernia repair. I’ve felt indescribable, inescapable pain. Trying to keep my invisible illness to myself after being told by doctors it was just ‘part of being a woman.’ I spent 10 years being undiagnosed,” she explained.
Sick and tired of women being told our health issues should be suffered and it’s all “just part of being a woman”. What idiot decided that only white men are to be used to study anything about the human body?
Oh and when money is granted towards studying these kinds of issues, guess what they spend the money on?
Attractiveness of women with rectovaginal endometriosis: a case-control study
A fucking study on how attractive women are with or without this disease.
Vile.
We’re also just now (November 2025) starting to use crash test dummies shaped like women:
Vehicle safety tests in the U.S. use crash test dummies based on a male body. Advocates say it’s no coincidence that women are more likely to suffer injuries in car crashes than men, even if you control for the severity of the crash and the size of the vehicle.
Calls for an accurate female crash test dummy date back decades. Consumer Reports has traced them back to 1980.
In the early 2000s, regulators added a small “female” dummy to tests — but it was just a scaled-down version of the male dummy, with breasts attached. That doesn’t reflect the real anatomical differences between male and female bodies.
I remember my current partner being really shocked that only male crash test dummies are being used.
This is the kind of thing that comes to my mind when people try to claim that women have achieved equality here in the US.
Holy fuck that sounds so fucking exhausting poor woman.
She’s been raising a small child during this, too!
I know somebody who was kinda close with Steve for a little while and that person always seemed to hold Bindi in especially high regard even when she was young. I don’t generally go in for parasocial celebrity shit but she’s my fave Irwin lol.
She seems quite lovely. I also really enjoyed watching her brother, Robert, compete on Dancing with the Stars recently. All of the Irwins seem to be doing a bang up job holding up their familial reputation after Steve went.
