i remember watching this as a kid and liking it, before i was particularly politically conscious. guess i should check it out again. i remember the soundtrack was good too
Hell yeah, I’ll have a look. Too late right now but I fired it up briefly… I always forget how beautiful technicolor is.
Also, regarding the Mao quote… I never noticed before but I feel like it dovetails really well with the Che quote about the revolutionary being motivated by love. How else could one stay human in such a terrible time?

sergios last three films are all grade a bangers, but people only ever want to talk about the clint movies. ennio has a ton of fun with the score in duck you sucker as well; one of my favorites
