Identity politics are more harmful in general because it poses as human rights. It’s nothing but hollow, platitudes and rhetoric, it gives a false sense of security. Saying trans can use the bathroom of choice is meaningless if they can’t pay the rent. Claiming to support women’s reproductive rights, but only so far as to fundraise off the fear of losing it is more harmful than outright hatred and misogyny.

The only evolution there has been is liberals continuing to push to the right. Both sides implies that there are two sides to US politics, there is one, and it’s a capitalist side.
