I believe I have commented about this album in the past, but I have such an earworm for this right now. I stumbled on the music on classical radio and was stunned by how vibrant it was.
Researching to make sure I wasn’t about to recommend the music of a human monster, I found that Torke experiences synesthesia and the pieces he has named after colors reflect that. The only criticism I saw was reflected in a LLM summary that suggested that he polarizes listeners by being too progressive. Also, he seems to have taken some flack for attempting to emulate Mozart and Beethoven.
It reminds me of something … Steve Reich if I’m not mistaken.
Reich was mentioned in the same breath as him on other conversations.
