It’ll still kill hundreds if not thousands of people. The Cuban peoples “unity” in the face of bombardment matters less to me than the preservation of their lives. I don’t mean to be a doomer, but I think it’s frankly very fair to have our stomachs churn at the empire’s barbarity.
You don’t sound like a doomer. This is a very mature and moral take.
It is more than fair to be appalled at the prospect of loss of lives. It is also important to keep optimism alive in the face of barbarism.
Although I understand the need for optimism, I feel as if saying to “not worry” is a bit tasteless, if I may be a little blunt. I generally do not like tone policing, but I think in this case we need to straddle the line between optimism and callous calculation.

Not at all. There is a difference between healthy optimism and toxic optimism.
