It’s valid. Kind of like…“I don’t hate those ten guys who are very similar, I just hate that one guy from those ten who keep stabbing people in the neck”.
That level of thinking is deeper than people want to do now, if they’re even still capable of it. The dominant process is to take in minimal information, decide who gets a black hat or white hat as quickly as possible, scroll to the next item, repeat.

Yes…disliking someone based on their actions is legitimate, disliking someone because they are part of a specific ethnic/religious group is not.
