When I started studying as a cabinetmaker I was warned that gloves could get caught in the machines and now 20 years later my hands are just very callused and I rarely see a reason to wear gloves at all. Although last year when I was pruning rose bushes I definitely got properly stabbed and saw a reason to wear gloves.
I always wear work gloves in the yard. Too many ways to get cut, stabbed, scraped, splintered, burned, etc.
