This is my daily user when I go to the park to read. It’s my first Kindle 3rdGen, (called Kindle Keyboard) that I bought way back in 2010.
The battery was going to crap (after 16 years!), so I replaced that and everything was great. But then I dropped it and cracked screen, so I replaced screen. And while I was doing that, I went ahead and replaced the keyboard since my other one was getting kinda crunchy.
Decorative skin was bought on ebay for $2.
I don’t connect it to wifi (I don’t need Amazon snoopin on me), I copy all my DRM-Free books to the device directly from Calibre.
EDIT: I just bricked this device last night. I was updating to KOReader, and I don’t know what happened, but now it won’t come on! lolol

Z for Zachariah by Robert C. O’Brien.
It’s a post-apocalyptic survival fiction novel from the late 70s, told in first person by a teenage girl trying to survive on her own.
I’m really enjoying it! I have heard about this book forever, but never actually knew anything about it or read it before now. It was adapted to a movie with Margot Robbie, but it’s supposedly way different than the book. I heard it’s pretty decent. I’ll watch it after I’ve finished the book.
