I wouldn’t call 50 year old tanks “modern”.

*What Russian tanks look like in order to give a false sense of security re: drones.

You know what works better? Not having a carousel autoloader.

It’s better than dying in a soviet-era Russian deathtrap.

At leat China cares, they still have a carousel, but they actually have an isolation pod to keep the crew safe on Type 100. That’s more than Russia has ever tried.

both sides are employing this, sure you could argue that russia is doing this in a larger scale and perhaps even more intensely than ukraine but the larger scale can be explained by simply russia having a bigger stockpile of tanks to employ go use

I guess the branches would get into the rotors of drones, so you can’t control them anymore.

    Honestly that’s scary as hell.

Both ways: when it charges you or thinking there is technology that creates a need to develop this defense.
And that technology is really easy to turn against the little people.

Tanks are ‘easy to spot’ as something dangerous - need a lot of resource and man power - drones are too freaking cheap…

They still get used, just in a very different role than before drones were a thing. And the days of big tank formations rolling through are very much over. Nowadays they mostly do mine clearing, artillery support, and mobile command centres.

Reminds me of a Maddox post:

Ding Ding! Here comes the shit-mobile. I’ve never seen a fire truck that needed to be shaved. I would rather be burned to death than be saved by this hairy piece of shit.
