How do I get people to see my community or know if people can find it? I was on Reddit for 2 days starting a community and got banned for NO REASON. I saw this was the closest thing to it so wanted to start here until Reddit (if they ever bother) checks my appeal.

someone mentioned your community so I took a look. I often complain about people who make communities not putting info in the sidebar. you did that but as a person who knows nothing about YoTyan I now know its some sort of game and that does not interest me enough to go read posts on it. theres a lot of some sort of games around.

Yeah, when I started using Reddit three days ago (my account was 1 month old), my goal was to make a fun environment for the people that watch the streams. I was going to start by making Q&A-style posts so people who watch the streams could search for them in their browser and find the information easily. I’m not sure if Lemmy.world shows up in search results the same way Reddit does, but I was happy to find a similar site. I’ll just try my best not to look like a bot on here (not too active). 😅

This is exactly the kind of cool niche stuff that is underrepresented on here, so I hope you get some traction with your community!

Lemmy can show up in searches, although it probably doesn’t have the best SEO.

just fyi there is like a weekly mastodon watch party that does something like that. I don’t join in because the convo is on mastadon but I might if it was a community that did it.
