Russia’s Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) has warned of an alleged Western plot to carry out false flag attacks using Russian weapons in Latin America . According to the official statement, the central objective of these Euro-Atlantic elites is to accuse Moscow of the “alleged illegal supply” of weapons to drug cartels and other organized crime groups in Venezuela, Colombia, and Mexico .
To implement this strategy, Russian intelligence detailed that “Russian-made weapons captured by the enemy are already being introduced into the territory of these countries” during the special military operation in Ukraine.
Additionally, the SVR reported that the organizers are preparing fake audio and video recordings designed to “confirm” the alleged shipment of this war material to Latin American nations through intermediaries.
The organization noted that, with this maneuver, the West hopes to convince the region’s governments to adopt an anti-Russian stance . However, the SVR considered that this provocation will only succeed in “demonstrating, once again, the absence of any moral boundaries” and the stereotypical thinking of its instigators.
In its analysis of information warfare, Russian intelligence argued that, since the beginning of the conflict, Euro-Atlantic elites have spread stories that transgress the limits of morality and law , citing as an example the “bloody staging” that took place in Bucha in April 2022.
Finally, the SVR issued a warning about the grave consequences of these tactics . It recalled the Gleiwitz Incident of August 31, 1939, when SS members attacked a German radio station dressed in Polish uniforms , an event that triggered World War II and a disturbing precedent for current events.
Intelligence concluded that history shows that the price of such operations against Russia "can be extremely high, especially for those who organize them . "
