As I mentioned in this post, i have recovered a section of Aaron’s old website where they (Aaron, and his webmaster) would repost certain guestbook entries. These entries have nothing to do with the day’s strip, as they were left previously and posted on later dates.

I can almost guarantee that there were schools named after both Strom Thurmond and George Wallace somewhere at the time this strip was written (if not still today).

Couldn’t find any schools named after George Wallace, but there are still some streets and other buildings named after him, and at least one school suspiciously named “Wallace” that I suspect was renamed to some other Wallace as an act of malicious compliance.
Anyway, Huey is right to be pissed off.
Strom Thurmond High School(STHS) is a four year high school located in Johnston, a town in Edgefield County, South Carolina, United States. It is named for Strom Thurmond, who served as Governor of South Carolina (1947–1951), and was an eight-term senator from South Carolina (1954–1956 and 1956–2003). The athletic teams are called the Rebels. The Rebels are the current 2A state football champions.
Wallace Community College (WCC) (formally George C. Wallace Community College) is a public community college in Dothan, Alabama, United States. It is named after the father of Alabama governor George Wallace.
