    I do think it always looks kind of off when they do this. Like why not try and upscale the pixel art instead? Could be interesting to see older games getting remastered with better lighting and really detailed pixel art with lots of frames of animation. Instead we get “remasters” that look like you smeared vaseline all over everything.

        Autism time but the Sonic Mega Collection does NOT look this bad. Yes it’s smooth but also since it’s locked to 480i it looked pretty composite on all systems of the day anyway, so bilinear wasn’t such a big deal.

            (I know it’s a badpost but) Comrade, you are telling lies! Not that I think fuckin Sonic Mega Collection needs defending but uhhhh Mao said post.

            So I looked at the Gamecube version (smallest disc size, I assume) in Dolphin, and lo and behold:

            Where’s all that “bilinear you can’t turn off”?

            I have screencaps of the Xbox version running on a real console too but the lying bearsite prevents me from uploading them.

              I actually think I’m mixing up my memory with the ultimate collection on HD era consoles and I think it was also optional. Hey not my fault sega released sonc like 50 billion times.
