I have a question, what are some opinions on lesser AI use? For example using a local model for rubberduckying? Finding bugs? Along with that, local model vs free tier or lowest power hosted models?

I think Linus has the right idea with the kernel. It seems to be use of AI to detect bugs but human written code and tests.

So many industry standards and base libraries on this list and practically every single programming language that is known to date is on this list. And many of the alternatives are not functionally equivalent.

So many beloved community tools on this list as well.
