One of the more recent Kickstarters I did. Funding was 8/6/2025 to 9/3/2025 and raised $12,781, with a goal of $10,000. I did the $35 buy-in, which got a physical copy in softcover, pdf, and all digital goals. Still waiting on the digital goals, but I am fine with that. So we’re getting city guides for New Orleans, Atlantic City, Los Angeles, and New York City. And it looks like we’re even getting San Francisco. The quick overview is it’s the Roarin’ 20s and you may work with the mob, work against the mob, or have no affiliation either way, though the mob and its corruption is ever present in the game. This is the first game in my collection with the ORC License. The game really isn’t broken down into chapters, but more like general sections. The first section is some general information about the world. The game does take place during Prohibition after the 19th Amendment was ratified. The section talks about society, Organized Crime, The Cops, The Fed, and other stuff going on during this time. Next is building characters. There are 4 attributes and a few packages one can use. Some include: 3,3,3,3; 6,2,2,2; and 4,4,2,2. Arrange however preferred among attributes. Figure Health and other stuff, then use the 25 XP you get at creation. All must be used in the process. There are dots that you can get for skills and weapons, specialties, and psychic abilities. For skills and weapons, the first dot is 1 XP and the 2nd is 2, so if you want to start with 2 dots in a skill, it’s 3 XP. For Specialties, 1 dot is 2 XP and second is 4 XP. All go up to 4 dots. Psychic is 3 XP for the 1st and 6 for the 2nd. Following that is skill descriptions and weapons. Specialties come next, followed by Psychic Powers, Standing, and Flaws. For Flaws, each pick you get +2 XP to use in creation. We now come to the Playing the Game section. How many dots you have in a skill determines how many d12 you roll. If you have Zero Dots, you roll 1d12 and add any relevant Attribute. 1 dot, roll 3d12 and remove the highest and add the remainder to the attribute. Max dots, roll 3d12 and add to the attribute. Combat and contested dice rolls are pretty standard regardless of type used. Health is discussed and is a little more “real world” than in other games. “Energy,” and recovering it is how Health/HP is handled in other games. The difference is how one chooses to unwind. Now we come to Running the Game. It talks about the types of stories to tell, be it: Slice of Life, Underworld, or Gumshoe ones. Then it’s tables about types of rolls which can be physical, mental or social. Then it talks about types of rolls which one can be physical, mental, or social and it’s them. Multiple skills may be appropriate for a roll, and it’s the Story Teller’s job to help decide which is better based on what the PC is trying to accomplish, and when to use them. They then go into crafting stories, the reality of combat in the game, with the PCs having what the PCs are trying to create. They then go int crafting stories. The PCs are stuck in the 4 - 8 range. They then go into crafting stories. It’s the Story Teller’s job to create stories. They are going to craft stories, the reality being that effect. Lastly is PC Progression and NPC Progression. Next is Equipment. Wealth is determined by how many dots you procured, and determines your starting wealth and weekly income. There’s also a look at cost of living per week, and include: meager, modest, and elite. There are even 50 NPCs that just need names. The rules section is about 100 pages. We also get 100+ pages for Chicago, We get a little history and a little on the main bosses and their main underlings as well as other NPCs. We then get some Chicago locations, including: The Evening Underground (Speakeasy), Chicago PD, Wrigley Field, and the Chicago Tribune. They also include Organizations and Factions of Chicago, like the Chicago Mob and the O’Neill Gang. Lastly, there are 2 one-shots included. The first is You May Now Kill The Groom. The Best Man kills the Groom and the Groom’s father (a mob boss) wants you to find out why. The 2nd is Them Graveyard Words. Chi-town Amusement Park is having issues and calls in the PCs.
