Vela Maps is an open-source, degoogled alternative to Google Maps for Android.
It uses OpenStreetMap and other open data for maps and places, supports offline maps, turn-by-turn navigation, public transit and live traffic, and doesn’t require Google Play Services or a Google account.
It can also run with Google completely disabled for a fully offline/degoogled experience.

Tried it out while running it through pcapdroid. Still a lot of connections to Google, Google play, and gstatic. So I can’t say it’s totally degoogled, but it’s a start.
Remember how good google earth was getting when google owned sketchup for a bit and there were was synergy between them with people modelling buildings etc? It’d be nice to see innovation in our maps again.
Been looking for a (more) privacy focused navigation app with live traffic. Perfect (for now), thanks!
It seems Street View doesn’t work. Otherwise, it looks nice.

Does this have the CoMaps doesn’t work with Android Auto problem.
What’s your issue? You can’t use apk outside of Play Store; they don’t work with auto.
I thought my problem would be obvious.
Comaps doesn’t work with android auto, it works fine in any other setting.
You can use CoMaps with Android Auto if you use Aurora Store with its installer set to the microg installer, if that pathway suits your fancy. Been working pretty well for me
Vela also has docs specific to Android Auto here: https://github.com/PimpinPumpkin/Vela/blob/main/docs/ANDROID-AUTO.md
